Have you heard the expression that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I think there’s a lot of truth to that.
My slogan is “Integrity. Experience. Trust.”
I got a good chuckle a few months ago when I saw a couple of new realtors using my slogan. I guess maybe I’m doing something right. I didn’t copy that slogan out of a real estate handbook or pay a marketing company to come up with it. I came up with it myself, based on feedback from my clients.
I often ask potential sellers and buyers who interview me if they’ve given any serious thought to what it might look like if they have inexperienced representation in their corner when dealing with a savvy veteran realtor on the other side of the table.
Experience does not cost more — it costs you less.
While money shouldn’t be the only thing that matters, it does seem to be at the centre of the number 1 and 2 questions I hear most when working with clients.
1) How much can I make and 2) How much do you charge?
I’ve helped everybody from first time home buyers on a shoe string budget to top level faculty and staff at our most prominent companies and institutions. And I’ve helped make them a lot of money in the process. That’s how I separate myself from the crowd.
